Head of the Department - Computer Science and Engineering

Dr. Gokula Kannan E is currently serving as the Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at MRK Institute of Technology. He is responsible for overseeing the academic activities, administrative responsibilities, and overall development and achievements of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. He is a dedicated teaching professional serving as an Associate Professor, with a strong commitment to academic excellence, student development, and research.

He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering in 2008 from Anna University and completed his Postgraduate degree in Computer Science and Engineering in 2012 from Annamalai University. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering in 2016 from Annamalai University.

His doctoral research focuses on Privacy-Preserving Data Mining, with the title of his thesis being "A Novel High Secured and Improved Distributed RK Secured Sum Protocol in Apriori Algorithm for Privacy Preserving." His research work primarily focuses on developing secure and privacy-preserving techniques for distributed data mining and knowledge discovery.

His core academic interests include Operating Systems, Data Warehousing, and Distributed Computing, while his research interests focus on Information Security, Data Mining, Privacy-Preserving Data Mining, Secure Data Processing, and Apriori Algorithms. He is actively involved in teaching, research, academic administration, and student mentoring. He is committed to fostering a research-oriented and innovative learning environment and encouraging students and faculty members to explore emerging technologies and interdisciplinary areas in Computer Science and Engineering.

Dr. Gokula Kannan E has published research papers in Scopus-indexed journals and international conferences, contributing to various emerging areas of Computer Science and Engineering. His publications cover a broad range of research domains, including Internet of Things (IoT), Smart City Applications, Wireless Sensor Networks, Cloud Computing, Hypersonic Flow Simulation, Satellite Applications, Data Mining, Privacy Preservation, Information Security, and Distributed Databases.

Through his teaching, research, and academic leadership, he continues to contribute to the academic excellence, research culture, and overall development of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
